June 29, 2019 Android new-launch News huawei

We have used to that the market for smartphones is probably the best that could possibly be. Each manufacturer is trying to surprise, each company is trying to please the user, overwhelm him with technology from head to toe, giving the smartphone a dream - and at the same time without bending the price. Naturally, there are exceptions and some manufacturers are not averse to cash in on their fans, but this is hardly the case with Huawei. Recently, this Chinese brand introduced three interesting smartphones: Nova 5i, Nova 5 and 5 Pro. In today's article, we will talk about the most interesting model, namely Nova 5, since this gadget has distinguished itself with flagship technologies and a completely new processor.

Huawei Nova 5 - really powerful smartphone with a glamorous design

The device looks great, sure things, it repeats the outward flagship model Nova 5 Pro. The device is made of glass and metal and offers a choice of classic black body color, as well as three interesting colors with a gradient: emerald green, blue-violet, and orange. The smartphone has received a frameless design and the thinnest frames around the display. The front camera is hidden in a teardrop-shaped cut-out, and the fingerprint scanner has gone under the display altogether so that on the back panel there is only a powerful unit consisting of 4 cameras.

With not the largest dimensions (157.4 mm in height and almost 75 mm in width), the device offers a huge 6.4-inch OLED-screen with elegant color reproduction, picture detailing and coating up to 108% of the DCI-P3 color space. The frames around the display are so minimal that the usable area of the display is steadily striving for a figure of 90%.

Huawei Nova 5 comes with a brand new Kirin 810 processor, which replaced the Kirin 710. The chip is unique in that it is made according to the latest 7-nanometer process technology, but that's not all. According to the latest tests, the Kirin 810 turned out to be 12% more productive than the new Snapdragon 730 chip and 25% more powerful than the Snapdragon 710. And the processor from Huawei copes better absolutely in all tasks, including the processing of 3D graphics. In total, the Kirin 810 in the Antutu test scores almost 240,000 points. If this turns out to be not enough, the chipset supports GPU Turbo 3.0 video core overclocking and offers a graphene heat sink for minimal chip heating during heavy loads. As for the memory, the Huawei Nova 5 gives you a choice of 6/8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of ROM with microSD support.

Noba 5 is no less interesting in terms of cameras since it has a 4-module main camera at once. It consists of a 48 MP Sony IMX586 sensor, as well as a 16 MP ultra wide-angle camera, 2 MP depth sensor and 2 MP macro camera. All this allows the smartphone to take high-quality pictures on the main module, to produce wide-angle photos with a viewing angle of up to 120 degrees, portrait photos and macro photos with optical zoom. In addition, the gadget has digital and optical image stabilization, and phase autofocus. For selfies, an advanced 32 MP sensor is also used, due to which the photos on the front camera are very clear, bright and detailed.

As of the battery of Huawei Nova 5, it comes with good capacity of 3500 mAh. Moreover, the device supports a very fast charge of 40 W, so that such a battery will be charged very, very quickly (85% in 30 minutes). I was pleased with the device and the presence of the NFC module, Type-C connector, although the 3.5 mm jack disappeared. Out of the box, the Nova 5 will run on Android 9 and then upgrade to Android 10 Q.
