Sony Mobile is set to launch a new high-end Xperia smartphone during the second half of the year. The Sony F8331 (F833X) model number has been revealed on the benchmarking site, sporting a higher model designation than that of the Xperia X Performance (F813X). In addition, the Sony Xperia and model numbers have also been revealed through UAProf links. The rumoured name of this new model is said yo be Xperia XR.
The above specifications ares very similar to that of the Xperia X Performance. The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 820 (MSM8996) chipset (not the newer Snapdragon 821) and has a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. GFXBench pegs the display at 5.1-inches, but at this moment those details are usually not showing the final specs
It is known that the smartphone will get a radically new design concept, as well as several long-awaited technical parameters (eg, USB Type-C, dual LED flash, a laser focus). From the photos we see, we are expecting a revamped design from the current X series, it looks like it will be made of metal and 2,5D-glass.
Other specs include 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, a 23MP rear camera and a 13MP front-facing camera. We could expect to see a new design at the likely announcement during IFA in early September. \
