Sony Xperia X Review

Android Reviews Sony

The Sony Xperia X is a new series from Sony. It is designed with lower specs than the Sony Z series with additional features, especially for the camera and screen. In this article, we are going to touch on the different areas of the smartphone.

Whether the Xperia X series is a replacement for the Z series or not is still unclear, as we had hoped for another device in the Z range – Z6. This is why we are surprised when we saw the launch of the Sony Xperia X, which goes against all expectations.

Design and Build

Xperia X

The Sony Xperia X is stylish and sleek, making it an attractive phone. Although it lacks the edge-to-edge screen, you can find on the Xperia XA, it still comes with enough specs to fathom.

With thickness of 7.9mm and weighing in at 153g, the Xperia X fills the hand and can easily go into the pocket. It will be available in beautiful Rose Gold, a nice looking White and Lime Gold, and Graphite Black models, all of which will complement its looks. There are also matching cases and covers that you can choose from.

The screen is a bit low-end as it can pick up fingerprints and the body is not seamless with the cover as little crumbs and debris can escape into the little place where the cover and the edges meet. The SIM tray also serves as the microSD slot, which may not be the best if you frequently prune this place. However, it is not a deal breaker if you don’t frequent this place.

Specs and Performance

Xperia X review

The Xperia X sports 5-inch display and a clear, colorful Full 1080p HD. It is a pocket friendly phone – with .5-inch smaller than other phones in this range, slipping it into your pocket will be easier more than ever.

It comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 with 3GB of RAM and 32GB storage space, expandable to 200GB with a microSD card. While it may struggle to switch between camera modes sometimes, it should be speedy enough to carry out most of the tasks you will throw at it. With a 23-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 13-megapixel front unit, this is one of the strength of the Xperia X smartphone. The back unit comes with Hybrid Autofocus, which helps you take better pictures.

The phone features a fingerprint sensor on the side, runs on the latest version of Android – Marshmallow 6.0.1, and is equally good for multitasking. With a great battery life, the Xperia X is a good phone for those who play games with it.
