La Nikon Z6 II si trova sotto la Z7 II come modello "multimediale" di punta nella gamma mirrorless della serie Z. Offrendo un sensore full frame da 24 MP, stabilizzazione a 5 assi incorporata e riprese video 4K di alta qualità, lo Z6 II offre una serie di funzionalità simili al suo predecessore, ma con alcune differenze. I miglioramenti includono (e principalmente derivano da) l'aggiunta di un secondo processore di immagini Expeed 6, che consente uno scatto continuo più veloce (ora fino a 14 fps), una messa a fuoco automatica migliorata e un video 4K / 60p da un ritaglio APS-C (proveniente tramite firmware). Fisicamente lo Z6 II è quasi identico allo Z6 originale, ma ora dispone di due slot per schede CFexpress / SD e di una presa di controllo verticale (disponibile separatamente).
