One of the biggest and most powerful phone of the year is here. The successor to last year's V10, is the first in the world to ship with Google's latest Android 7.0 Nougat. It features a 5.7-inch QHD display (2560 x 1440 / 513ppi) and powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor with 4GB of RAM. The trademark secondary IPS Quantum display at the top of the device is now has 50 per cent larger font than the LG V10, with the brightness doubled. V20 also improved its second "Always On" display which has doubled brightness and size. The main killer features you can find on this phone:
One of the top feature of the V20 is in the sound. The V20 packs in some serious audiophile-grade features, being able to captures audio using 24-bit / 48 kHz Linear Pulse Code Modulation (LPCM), basically the same format used in professional video equipment.” V20 is also the first phone ever to feature a 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC, you normally find in high-end audio devices. It supports all of the major lossless music formats like FLAC, DSD, AIFF and ALAC with LG also promising to mimimise distortion and ambient noise by up to 50 per cent.
The popular Second Screen feature that was first introduced on the V10 has improved in visibility. With double the brightness and 50 percent larger font size compared to the V10, the smaller display located above the main display allows users to easily view notifications and alerts in outdoor situations at a glance.
Now with the Expandable Notifications feature, users can tap a button on the Second Screen to enlarge notifications in order to check long messages at a glance and quickly send a reply or share information.
The LG V20 also features Multi-window to display two apps at once in a split screen allowing users to drag text, images, and files from one app to another. The combination of these advancements together with the 5.7-inch main IPS Quantum Display offers the best in multitasking capabilities.
High quality 4K Video
Steady Record 2.0 relies on the Snapdragon 820 processor to give electronic image stabilization 3.0 tech developed by Qualcomm. This is designed to minimalise unintentional movement when shooting video. With the capability of 4K video capture, playback and manual control options. The LG V20 is ready to shoot real high quality video
Serious Wide angle Camera
The camera is also another focus of V20. LG has opted for a dual-lens set-up with serious wide-angle flair. It is the world’s first smartphone to feature a wide-angle lens on the front and the rear of the phone. The first camera offers 16 megapixel pictures with optical image stabilization, while you'll be able to capture a wider field of view with the additional 8-megapixel wide-angle lens. This allows users to capture up to 3 x more of a scene than a standard smartphone camera. The 8-megapixel rear camera offers a 135-degree panaroma capture while the front, (no longer dual lens in V10) has a 120 degree wide veiw angle.
Hybrid Auto Focus
The V20’s Hybrid Auto Focus (HAF) ensures a sharp picture every time. A fast and stable auto focus is delivered in any environment by integrating three AF mechanisms – Laser Detection AF, Phase Detection AF and Contrast AF – for both videos and photos. The V20 determines if LDAF or PDAF is best for a particular shot and then refines the focus with Contrast AF. Users can take full advantage of the V20 when capturing sharp images of friends or family in action, in any lighting conditions.
To support all the top features comes a 3,200mAh removable battery (LG unique flip-up mechanism) with Quick Charge 3.0 technology from Qualcomm. Being able to take off V20's back cover enables users to swap out its 3,200mAh which means it is not waterproof.
LG uses lightweight aluminium together with a new silicon-based material known as AL6013 metal, that are found in aircraft, sailboats and mountain bikes, for the back cover of the phone due to its sturdy but light properties.
